  • Driver's Ed

    The Driver’s Education Class is certified through the State of Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles.  To take this class you will need to be 14 before October 14.  The student will need to pass both the driving and the online course. The class will consist of 30-36 hours of online instruction, 5 hours of supervised practice driving, and a 10-15 minute driving test. The lecture part of the class will be the AAA How To Drive Online Course.  You will need to email me at deanfilipi72@gmail.com to sign up for the class. The fee for the class is $295.
    Payment will be needed before you receive your pass code for the online class. Once you have completed the practice driving part of the course, we will meet in Exeter to take the driving test. Once you have completed the online class and email me the Certificate of Completion, class log, and a copy on your final test score from the online course.  I will enter you into the DMV system.  We will do the driving part of the class this summer.  You need to sign up by May 15.   Please make checks payable to Dean Filipi.  If you have questions, please contact Mr. Filipi at 402- 853-1968.

    The University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Health Careers Resource Center (HCRC) invites you to attend the Third Annual Pre-Health Symposium on Friday, April 25th, 2025, from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at UNO’s Dodge Campus. This FREE event is perfect for high school and college students exploring healthcare careers.

    How High School Students and Educators Can Participate:

    • Personalized Itineraries tailored to students’ interests in health and human services. Please reach out to us at unohealthcareers@unomaha.edu to request these itineraries for your students.

    • Breakout Sessions for Educators & Counselors focusing on supporting students pursuing healthcare careers, scholarship opportunities, and more.

    • College & Career Fair with over 100 organizations offering resources and connections for aspiring healthcare professionals.

    • Interactive Panels & Lab Tours where students can explore career paths, learn how to be a competitive applicant, and much more.

    This is a can’t-miss event for anyone interested in healthcare, and we encourage you to invite your students, classmates, and colleagues to join you! Help us spread the word about this exciting opportunity.

    Next year's juniors and seniors who are considering a career in the health field are highly encouraged to look into the opportunity to join the UNK Health Science Explorers Academy.

    Opportunities for students in 2025-26

     

    Students who will be juniors or seniors in the 2025-26 academic year are invited to apply to UNK's Health Science Explorers Academy. It's an excellent 9-month program starting in September that helps students explore healthcare careers. Opportunities include hands-on activities, simulations, guest speakers, field trips, and an advanced health science education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and UNMC. You are welcome to post our flyer or share this email to spread the word.

    APPLY TO THE ACADEMY

    Application closes April 30. Selected students will be announced by May 10. Program is limited to 25 students. Cost is $75 – financial assistance is available.
