Walter Scott, Jr. Career Pathway Scholarship

 

The Walter Scott, Jr. Career Pathway Scholarship Program (SPS) provides recipients:

  • The scholarship covers full tuition and fees, plus room and board for up to four consecutive semesters.
  • Potential to apply for additional funds for books, tools, and fees.
  • A Scott Pathway Director at the Hastings Campus to assist students programmatically, socially, and with career development.
  • Special enrichment opportunities to support learning and career development outside of the classroom including a summer bridge program.

Walter Scott, Jr. Career Pathway Scholarship requirements include:

  • Live on campus in a dedicated living-learning environment
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher 
  • Register for 12 or more credits per semester
  • Attend career development activities
  • Meet regularly with the Scott Pathway Director
  • Participate in a paid sponsorship, internship, apprenticeship, or employment in a program-related field
  • Citizenship of permanent legal residence is required for applicants

Preference will be given to students with a demonstrated career interest and program alignment, proven resiliency and work ethic, and financial need as determined by the FAFSA. However, financial need is not required.

Overview:

The goal of the Walter Scott, Jr. Career Pathway Scholarship Program (SPS) is to support Career and Technical Education students along an educational pathway leading to high-skill, high-demand, high-wage careers in their local community.

Potential scholarship recipients must be a recent high school / home school graduate or GED graduate, and pursuing a career in an approved program of study, requiring a two-year degree or less. The approved programs of study include:
